In 2024, I was approached about making a booklet for the National Soccer Hall of Fame (NSHOF) for the Governor's Board. Initially, the client wanted the booklet to have a lux and custom feel, while having the booklet shape be in the star of the NSHOF logo.

After creating a mockup using the shape the client wanted, I suggested we go a different direction. We would need to change the orientation of the star in order to have a stable spine, which messed with the integrity of the logo, and also left an awkward space to design with.

In order to still keep a luxe and custom feel, I moved on to finishes that were within budget, but would accomplish what they were looking for.
Consulting with a local vendor, we landed on a square booklet with a soft touch laminate on the front. The cover also features the star embossed with a silver foiling. Finally, each book was hand-stitched with a custom red spine to mimic the stitching of a soccer ball while creating a strong contrast with the navy cover.
